Registration for the 2017 Texas Quiz Bowl Summer Camps at the University of Texas at Dallas has begun. Please visit this online form to register your student.
Students may register to attend one of two sessions Session A: July 9-15 or Session B: July 15-22. We suggest Session A for students currently in grades 4-8 and Session B for students currently in grades 9-11. Any student can attend either or both sessions.
New to the camp this year will be evening Jeopardy! and Name that Tune! contests. Both contests have a limited number of spots available. Student contestants will be chosen based upon the order of their full registration for camp. Student may not fully register until after they have completed the online registration form and submitted a $250 deposit.
Like past years, this year’s camp will feature a number of fun activities for students. In addition to learning about history, science, geography, and humanities, students will participate in sessions on learning strategies, lateral thinking, and study skills each day. Student registration fees include: lodging for six nights at UTD, 2 classes, 2 meals daily, all study materials, a t-shirt, and activities from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m.
For 2017 we anticipate that lectures will be offered on: American History, Classical Music, Physics, and Quiz Bowl Statistics. Additionally, our classes will include: Chemistry, Classic Novels, Drama, History, Mathematics, Classical Music, Mythology, and Shakespeare.
Students who submit their registration before January 1st are also eligible to receive a FREE TQBA Bonito Study Guide. Three Bonito Study Guides (Science, Social Studies, and Literature) were previous available. This spring a new Art guide will be available.
